Responsibilities

 

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Under general supervision, responsible for preparation of monthly financial reports in a timely fashion, reviewing investment proposals, investigating a variety of financial and operational issues and staying abreast of industry conditions and competitor activities.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures member deposit and loan balances are reconciled to Keystone daily
  • Responsible for building, maintaining and inputing of budget, forecasts and “what if” scenarios in ProfitStar, including reporting
  • Prepare various reports for the quarterly NCUA Call Report and the GCRMP analysis
  • Prepare various month end reports per the month end close checklist
  • Create ad hoc templates, reports and analysis for use by Senior Leaders to evaluate their business lines including industry benchmarking
  • Work in collaboration with other teams to resolve any outstanding items related to key job responsibilities
  • Perform analysis on Investment brokers and individual investment transactions
  • Automated various excel reports for improved efficiencies
  • Balance assigned general ledger accounts daily or monthly
  • Assist branches and members with inquiries
  • Maintain updated detailed job procedures, complete required annual training and remain current on all regulatory requirements
  • All accounting functions and records maintained in a timely and orderly manner in accordance with prescribed standards. Exception items attended to promptly corrected and posted daily. All transactions performed correctly and documented as appropriate to nature of transaction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Act as the primary backup for the following team positions:
    • Accountants

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance, strongly preferred
  • Five to seven years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Software and reporting skills including: Crystal reports, SQL, Keystone and FICS
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to multi-task, work in a fast paced, changing environment and maintain a commitment to accuracy and timeliness
  • Ability to write correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to members, team leader, and other team members of the organization
  • Ability to operate a personal computer and other standard office equipment such as fax machine, photocopier, ten key, telephone, and laser printer. Microsoft application knowledge, including advanced knowledge of Excel and Word is required
  • Ability to operate in a team environment to accomplish shared goals
  • Ability to effectively manage time as related to tasks
  • Excellent mathematical skills, accuracy, and basic knowledge of bookkeeping for use in maintaining accounting records is required
  • Must possess above average interpersonal skills to represent the Credit Union in a positive and courteous manner when dealing with members and all levels of team members
  • Strong listening skills to effectively determine member needs and resolve member and team member problems
  • Strong attention to detail
