Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:

  • The Facilities Manager is a hands-on position that is responsible for the oversight of daily operations, planning, organizing, directing and coordinating activities of anything facilities-related for Michigan First Credit Union, both on-site at the Evergreen Office Building and all remote facilities, ensuring compliance with OSHA and state and local regulations.

 

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for all upkeep, oversight, cleaning/maintenance, inquiries and follow-ups on the following areas for Michigan First:
    • The walking path area outside of Evergreen Office
    • Parking at any of our facilities, but the main focus is The Mint Conference Center and Evergreen Office Building
    • Evergreen Headquarters Office Space
    • Traditional Branches
    • In-Store Branches
    • The fitness center
    • The Built and Brewed Coffee Bar
    • The Michigan First Bowling Center
    • The Mint Conference Center
    • Elevators
    • Café 26
    • Vans
  • Manage Facility Request process and follow-up
  • Works directly with the property management partner to coordinate and manage the maintenance, contractor work or improvements needed at each location
  • Works with Retail AVPs (this is accurate, as it refers to the branches too) to ensure the maintenance and alteration of branch/office areas and equipment, as well as layout, arrangement, and housekeeping of the branches. Coordinates with cross-functional teams to ensure the physical configuration of all service delivery offices and technology (i.e., ATM sites) is correct. Monitors the installation, removal, and changes in telephone, electronic mail, and facsimile services that are required to operate the branches.
  • Contribute or lead other special projects for additional branch locations, remodels, or construction projects.
  • Liaison for and oversight of ordering any type of facilities supplies, on a global level, i.e. Staples, cleaning supplies for all facilities, cash counters, etc.
  • Responsible for the upkeep and all associated responsibilities with branch appearance, including consistently scheduled branch visits to conduct appearance, standards and compliance audits. Documented results to be communicated to AVP, Operations
  • Audit and report on facility management including size, lease contacts, (AVP deals with contracts, and this is supposed to be re: who to contact at the locations) general updates, and lease renewal timelines. Identify opportunities for improvement, whether it be equipment, technology or process-related ideas or items for any of our facilities
  • Develop solutions to address repeat issues and concerns, to stop them from occurring in the future
  • Ensure that all procedures and processes pertaining to our facilities are developed and/or kept up-to-date in The Hub
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Michigan First’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include training team members; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Becomes/is an advocate of The Michigan First Way, supporting all facets of it, including complete fulfillment of Our Promise, 5 STARS Service, SOLVE IT and our ISMs. Fosters a positive demeanor and image through professional representation in all contacts with both, team members and members. Consistently reflects and displays each of our “ISMs” in daily job performance, as well as in all business interactions while executing on our goals and initiatives. Learns and utilizes EMEC (Every Member’s Experience Counts) in day-to-day responsibilities when communicating with members only.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; plus at least three years of related experience and/or training at a leadership level; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in a facilities oversight role required
  • Must enjoy working with people and have ability to adapt to different personalities and priorities
  • Has the ability to prioritize specifically when it comes to complaints and/or high-impact issues and concerns for handling
  • Must possess strong time management skills and the ability to perform independently in setting objectives and take initiative to proceed properly.
  • Must possess a friendly, can-do, positive attitude at all times
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be resolution-focused with the end user/member in mind, at all times
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required
  • Must be an ambassador for Michigan First Credit Union, as this person will be working with external vendors, as well as internal teams
  • Must be able to multi-task and accomplish a high degree of accurate work that adheres to established processes, procedures and regulations.
