JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the development and deployment of new card products, services, and technology for all card programs. Maintains card stock and collateral inventory levels ensuring orders are placed timely. Assists in the management and maintenance of all card portfolios. Assists in implementation of new products, services, and technology. Provides assistance to credit union examiners and auditors of credit union operations.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Directly assists in the development and deployment of new products, services, and technology, including discovery, implementation, and testing; and working with appropriate Michigan First teams and vendors to accomplish goals
• Reviews and processes numerous reports in order to maintain the integrity of the card portfolio
• Completes quarterly MasterCard reports and other necessary management reports
• Manages card and forms/documents inventory both in-house and with central issuance vendor to ensure stock levels are maintained
• Works with Marketing on new card designs and updates to forms and documents mailed with cards
• Provides guidance to team members on systems and processes involved with credit and debit card processing and service including researching transaction declines, card issuance, and the Rewards program; involves vendors as necessary
• Researches, analyzes, and resolves member inquiries to ensure timely problem-resolution
• Escalates defects, improvement ideas, and/or issues identified with the processes, workflows and systems.
• Compiles, verifies and files records and forms to control issuance
• Assists with analyzing fraud claims to avoid unnecessary losses and reports trends to Card Services Manager and Risk Management
• Ensures compliance with card rules and regulations
• Assists team members with meeting daily goals as needed
• Assists Card Services Manager with projects as needed
• Becomes/is an advocate of the Michigan First culture, supporting diversity, philosophy and other credit union initiatives. Fosters a positive image of Michigan First via professional representation in all contacts and complies with all of Michigan First’s mission and vision goals
• Reflects each of the credit union’s “Isms” in daily job performance
• Learns and utilizes the EMEC way (Every Member’s Experience Counts) in day-to-day responsibilities, when communicating with members
• Ability to perform functions in an accurate and timely manner
• Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• 3+ years of credit and/or debit card processing experience preferred
• Knowledge of card technology
• Possess strong interpersonal skills, to work effectively in a team environment and with card vendors
• Strong analytical skills to independently resolve complex issues
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities
• Ability to maintain composure under stressful situations
• Consistently maintain professional appearance and attitude
• Ability to effectively present information in inter-departmental meetings, one on one, and small group situations with team members and members of the organization
• Ability to operate PC, including input, output, and inquiry to member accounts and other account information required in the member service function.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment, including proficiency in all spreadsheet capabilities.
• Familiarity with the differences in a basic number of products and services offered by other financial institutions to those offered by the credit union.
