JOB SUMMARY

The Mortgage Closer will contribute in the areas of preparation, reconciliation and delivery of the closing documents.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review file and prepare loan package to be sent to title co. for closing
• Review and approve final docs per all regulations and guidelines
• Ensure closing docs are issued and approved in a timely manner
• Schedule closing with processor/LO.
• Prepares and delivers a Preliminary Closing Disclosure in accordance with all regulations and guidelines.
• Assist in preparing packages for shipment to investors.
• Completes mortgage loans by monitoring collection, verification and preparation of mortgage loan documentation; scheduling and completing mortgage loan closing.
• Excellent interpersonal and persuasion skills.
• Ability to perform functions in an accurate and timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Becomes/is an advocate of the Michigan First culture, supporting diversity, philosophy and other credit union initiatives. Fosters a positive image of Michigan First via professional representation in all contacts and complies with all of Michigan First’s mission and vision goals.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous mortgage experience required
• High school diploma, BA degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics preferred.
• Previous experience in Encompass loan origination software is a plus.
• Passion, great communication skills, self-motivation, positive and competitive attitude.
• Detail orientated
• Ability to think critically and make educated judgment calls within regulatory parameters
• Possess strong interpersonal skills, to work effectively in a team environment.
• Consistently maintain professional appearance and attitude.
• Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to team members and members of the organization.
• Ability to operate PC, including input, output, and inquiry to member accounts and other account information required in the member service function.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment and computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
